Choosing an AMP theme

After navigating to your themes dashboard here, you can select one of our ready-made AMP compatible themes, with full homepage support. 

Throughout the year, we are both upgrading existing themes and developing new ones.  Our AMP themes are made to be nearly pixel-for-pixel identical to their non-AMP equivalents. 

Every theme is nearly 100% identical to the original Shopify created theme, except that our themes run Google's AMP framework, causing you significantly increased loding times, higher SEO, and the coveted AMP lightning bolt badge next to your search results.

What theme should I pick?

We most often recommend our Debut AMP theme, because most users tend to find it the most flexible in terms of features and customizations.  If you don't see your theme listed, you shouldn't panic.  AMP is often not meant to look "the exact same" as your non-AMP site, so a slight visual difference is often present, and is generally not a problem.  

Customizing the theme to match your brand

We provide hundreds of customizations within the theme editor to help the theme match up to your existing branding or styling.  We also released a powerhouse feature in our Custom live CSS editor, so that you can edit the CSS of your AMP pages and therefore will have full control over the CSS styling that goes into your page.  We've seen customers use this setting to significantly alter or improve the look and feel of their AMP pages, and we highly recommend taking this feature for a spin.  

Can I import my own theme into AMP?

Unfortunately, we haven't come across any theme developers who have taken the time to create an AMP version of their theme, so importing your own theme is not possible.  Creating an AMP theme takes hundreds of hours, and each component must be re-written to be AMP compatible, so this is an incredibly difficult endeavor.  However, we take theme suggestions daily, and the themes with the most suggestions are often those that we work on converting into AMP first, so feel free to drop us a message and let us know which theme you're looking to see on AMP.
